Francis William "Frank" Dures

Francis William Dures, age 82, of Buffalo, New York, passed away peacefully at the VA Hospital.

Born and raised in Buffalo, Francis spent his entire life in the community he called home. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and carried that sense of duty and responsibility throughout his life.

Francis was a union printer by trade. In retirement, he could often be found at Community Tire, where he jokingly referred to himself as the Director of Maintenance, a title that largely involved drinking coffee, reading the newspaper, and keeping an eye on things.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing, was an avid coin collector, and remained a lifelong member of the National Rifle Association.

Francis will be remembered as a steady, dependable man with a dry sense of humor who lived a life defined by service, work, and quiet pride.

Services will be private.
